Our Approach

Vintage cards are not modern cards. Centering, corners, edges, surface wear, print marks, registration, creases, wrinkles, staining, paper loss, and writing can all affect the way a card presents in a collection.

Our goal is simple: describe the card honestly, photograph it clearly, and call attention to the details collectors usually inspect before buying.

Important: Raw card condition descriptions are opinions, not third-party grades. Professionally graded cards are listed with the grade assigned by the grading company shown on the holder.

Common Condition Ranges

NM / NM-MT Sharp eye appeal with only minor handling or production flaws. Strong corners, clean surface, and no major defects visible at normal viewing distance.
EX-MT / EX Attractive collector-grade cards with light wear. Corners may show modest softness, and centering or surface may keep the card below near-mint range.
VG-EX / VG Solid vintage cards with more visible handling, corner wear, edge wear, centering issues, light surface wear, or small wrinkles depending on the card.
G / Fair / Poor Lower-grade cards with heavier wear, creases, staining, paper loss, writing, rounded corners, or other flaws. Often useful for affordable set building.

What We Look For

Centering We consider how the card is framed front and back, especially on vintage issues where centering can vary widely.
Corners & edges Corner sharpness, rounding, layering, chipping, edge wear, and paper quality all affect collector appeal.
Surface We look for wrinkles, creases, indentations, staining, print marks, gloss loss, scuffing, writing, and paper loss.
Eye appeal Some cards present better than the technical condition suggests. We try to note cards with strong collector appeal.

Collector-first promise: We would rather describe a card conservatively than surprise you later. If a card has a meaningful flaw, our listings should make that clear before you buy.
